Are you looking at going to "The Golden Compass"? check out Al Mohler's response to this new big screen blockbuster.
Should Christians see this movie given the fact that the author of the trilogy, of which this movie is the first, is an atheist and claims that his books are designed to kill God?
Question: Why are atheists, who claim there is no God, work so hard at trying to convince us that there is no God? If they are correct - why spend so much time and energy on trying to convince others?

I asked these questions to my sister the other day! She wants me to read the book by Dinesh D'Souza 'What's so Great about Christianity' (which is the answer to all these anti-God books that are out now). I don't see any point in reading more about how some think that God doesn't exist; they all have the same arguments.
Could it be that they are trying to convince those that are on the fence to end their 'belief' in God? It's like a godless evangelism... I know that sounds weird.
The Golden Compass scares me a little. It's very deceptive; I'm sure there are a lot of people that don't realise what it's all aobut. Harry Potter is less of a concern than the Compass. Harry doesn't try and masquerade as something it's not; it's a series about wizards, no deception there.
